Chances are some of you handsome people are new to this website altogether and wondering what this post is all about. Others are familiar with Dungeon Delve and are tuning in to get some insight on the latest changes to the newsletter. I hope to take this moment to pat you on the head, and give you a treat for caring enough about the work that I do enough to read this post!
I appreciate you. It doesn’t come often (or free) in todays attention-saturated internet. I promise to reward you at the end of the post!
What is Dungeon Delve?
Honestly, its awesome, informative, and you should Subscribe to it!!
In short, its a weekly round-up of all sorts of stuff I find on the internet that happened recently in the TTRPG space, including news bits, crowdfunding campaigns that are kickass, free resources and tools to help with GMing and design, advice pieces highlighted from across the blogosphere, a handful of deals and sales that are going on, and a lot more!… You could call it a newsletter. I call it a digital emporium of table-top RPG goodies.
I started Dungeon Delve as a means of engaging with the community more directly, and continuously keeping myself watchful of the weather in the tabletop RPG industry, indie space, and fandom in general.

We recently moved to Beehiiv!
After 250 subscribers in the first 50ish issues and first year and some months, I feel as if the website has become a thing of substance! … I’m proud of my little rag, and want to see where I can take it. However, aside from seeking Beehiiv as a new home for the newsletter for the better tooling, design choices, and refreshment of my week-to-week work on it, a good portion of my reason has to do with issues I have with its old home, Substack.
Why move away from Substack?
A few reasons why:
- Ethical Reasons - Substack platforms hate-speech, extremist ideologies, and transphobic rhetoric with little to no content moderation. I believe in voting with my patronage, and I’d rather not support the platform anymore.
- Monetary Reasons - I have some Dungeon Delve and Odd Fair Press business expenses. While I haven’t posted any Paid Content, I’d like to reserve the option to in the future, and not have the platform take 10% of my earnings.
- Functional Reasons - Why bother with Notes? Why be at the mercy of yet another set of algorithms? I’d rather get more in the way of design choices and newsletter/site options.
- Its Something New - With the newsletter having reached 250 subs over a year and a half, I figured trying something new might give me a mental refresh, as well as free up spoons to work on actual growth.That being said, I will continue to network, link, and communicate with my friends and colleagues regardless of platform. Also, I dont intend to make anyone feel bad about their use of Substack. This is just a personal decision, and an opportunity for a refresh!
